Everything Asperaria Makes, on One Page

This is the whole catalog in one grid: refillable leather covers in twelve formats and six leathers, the paper and inserts that go inside them, the pen cases, charms and clips that go with them, and a few leather goods that have nothing to do with notebooks. It is a lot to scroll. If you already know roughly what you want, the routes below are faster.

Faster Ways In

• Leather journals — every cover, grouped by size. Start here if you know the notebook you want to put in it.
• Notebook refills — lined, plain, colored and 250 gsm watercolor paper in the eight core formats, with lined and plain also in B6 Slim, Cahier, Sketchbook and Personal.
• Inserts and organizers — card slots, zip pouches and document folders that ride on the same elastics as a notebook.
• Journal accessories — everything small: pen cases and holders, charms and bookmark clips.
• Personalized — the covers that can carry a name, initials, a monogram or a logo.
• Wallets — the leather goods that are not journal-related.

Cover Size and Paper Size Are Not the Same Number

This page mixes covers and refills, so it is worth saying plainly: a cover is always cut larger than the paper it holds. An A5 refill is 5.8" × 8.3" (14.8 × 21 cm); the A5 cover around it measures 6.3" × 9.1" (16 × 23 cm). Order both by the size name — A5, B6, Regular, Field Notes — and they match. Order paper by the cover's own measurements and it arrives a size too big.

What Is Made of What

• Covers, inserts, pen cases and wallets — leather. The covers and the journal-side pieces are full-grain Crazy Horse, finished with wax and oil rather than a pigment coat, which is why they mark and then settle rather than crack.
• Bookmark clips — metal, deliberately. Leather is too thick to close inside a notebook and too soft to grip a page.
• Journal charms — gold-toned metal with crystal, pearl and handmade beadwork, on a clasp that clips to the closure elastic.
• Refills — paper: lined, plain, colored and watercolor.

What Can Be Personalized

Covers take four methods — laser engraving, heat stamping into the leather, and that same stamping in gold or silver foil — chosen on the product page before checkout, and not removable afterwards. The Nameplate bookmark clip is engraved into metal instead. Wallets are marked by request through customer support rather than at checkout. The full set of options is on personalized leather journals.
