B6 Slim Leather Journal Covers

B6 Slim is a notebook shape, not a paper standard: about the height of B6 with roughly 2 cm taken off the width. The narrow page suits lists, columns and short daily entries more than wide spreads. In a full B6 cover a slim notebook slides sideways, so this B6 Slim notebook cover is cut narrower to hold it still.

B6 Slim Size in Inches and Centimeters

• B6 Slim notebook — 4.25" × 7" (10.8 × 17.9 cm), the size this cover is cut for.
• Midori MD B6 Slim — 4.1" × 6.9" (10.5 × 17.5 cm).
• Our B6 Slim cover, closed — 5" × 7.8" (12.8 × 19.9 cm).
• Our B6 cover, for comparison — 5.3" × 7.7" (13.5 × 19.6 cm): 7 mm wider, 3 mm shorter.
• Does not fit: a full B6, 4.9" × 6.9" (12.5 × 17.6 cm) or wider. That goes in the B6 cover.

Measure the width before anything else. Around 4.25" (10.8 cm) or less, the notebook belongs here. Around 5" (12.5 to 12.8 cm), it is a standard B6, a Stalogy or a Kokuyo Campus for instance, and needs the wider cover.

B6 Slim Next to the Sizes Either Side

The Lucien in B6 Slim

The B6 Slim cover is made as the Lucien, in all six leathers. It has three elastic bands, so a notebook, a spare and a thin insert can travel together, and leather pockets inside for cards and receipts. An outer elastic keeps it shut.

How Much It Holds

Three elastic bands give about 1.6" (4 cm) of spine. In practice that is a working notebook, a spare and a thin insert, or three 48-page refills. A thick Midori MD takes more of that room than a refill does, so with two MDs the third band is best left for something flat.

Refillable Rather Than Bound

The cover is the part you keep; the paper comes and goes. What goes on the bands of a B6 Slim:

• Paper refills — the 48-page refill comes in B6 Slim, white, lined or dotted. The 152-page, colored, weekly and watercolor refills are not made in this size yet, so for those you bring your own.
• Leather inserts — the A6 ones are the right width for this cover, just shorter.
• Pen cases — a case travels beside the journal and keeps the pen from riding loose in a bag.
• Journal charms and bookmark clips — for the closure elastic and the page you are on.

Leather, Color and a Name

The six leathers are Black Onyx, Chestnut, Forest Green, Bordeaux, Cognac and Caramel. All are full-grain Crazy Horse with a wax finish, so the color goes lighter where the leather bends and the surface takes marks that a thumb rubs back. A cover can be personalized with initials or a name before checkout. The leather journal covers page has the B6 Slim next to every other size.
