What a Refillable Leather Journal Cover Is

The cover is the part you keep. Inside it, elastic bands hold your notebooks in place: three on most Asperaria models, five on the Gabriel and Meloria lines, six on the Alpine. When a notebook fills up you take it out and slide a fresh one in. The leather stays, and it looks better for the wear.

Will It Fit the Notebook I Already Have?

Usually, yes. Fit depends on format rather than brand, because the notebook is held by elastics rather than clamped into a fixed frame. Match the size name and it works: an A5 cover takes any A5 notebook, a Field Notes cover takes any 3.5" × 5.5" (8.9 × 14 cm) pocket notebook, a B6 cover takes a B6. Choosing a Size

For long entries, weekly planning, sketching or running several notebooks at once, start with A5 journal covers or B5. For something that lives in a coat pocket or a small bag, compare A6, B6, Pocket Size and Field Notes-compatible covers. Regular Size is the tall, narrow traveler's notebook format and the usual middle ground. A4 journal covers are for desk work, drawing and anything you would otherwise fold in half.
